Rich Man, Poor Man - ABC - February 1, 1976 - March 12, 1976

Rich Man, Poor Man was a 1976 American television miniseries that aired on ABC in one-hour episodes at 10:00pm ET/PT on Monday night for twelve weeks, beginning February 1. It was produced by Universal Television and was the first time programming of this nature had been attempted. It proved to be a critical and ratings success and was the forerunner for similar projects based on literary works, such as Roots and Brideshead Revisited.
Based on the best-selling 1970 novel by Irwin Shaw, it spanned the period from 1945 through the late 1960s and followed the divergent career courses of the impoverished German immigrant Jordache brothers. Rudy was the rich man of the title, a well-educated and very ambitious entrepreneur who triumphed over his background and constructed a corporate and political empire. Poor man Tom was a rebel who eventually turned to boxing to support himself. Axel and Mary were their parents, and Julie Prescott was Rudy's lifelong sweetheart who eventually married him.
Dean Riesner wrote all twelve episodes, and direction was shared by Bill Bixby, David Greene, and Boris Sagal. The musical score was composed by Alex North, who was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Album of Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special.
It spawned the sequel Rich Man, Poor Man Book II, which aired from September 1976 through March 1977. The network repeated the original series Tuesday nights at 9:00pm in May and June 1977. It has been released on videotape and DVD.

These Are the Days - ABC - September 7, 1974, to September 27, 1975

These Are the Days is an animated television series from Hanna-Barbera, originally broadcast on ABC from September 7, 1974, to September 27, 1975. The series, although critically acclaimed, only lasted 16 total episodes. Each episode had a run time of 30 minutes.
The show was set at the turn of the 20th century, in an old town called Elmsville. It portrayed the everyday lives of the Day family, which consisted of a widow and her three children, along with her father (the kids' grandpa). Each episode featured the various family members and their interaction with friends and neighbors, usually ending with a lesson learned.
The show ran in a similar fashion to the popular television show The Waltons. Along with Devlin it was also one of the very few dramatic series to be produced by Hanna-Barbera, a company known primarily for comedies and action-adventure series. Coincidentally, Warner Bros. now owns the rights to all 3 shows, having acquired Lorimar Productions (which produced The Waltons) and Hanna-Barbera.

The second full length animated Walt Disney film, Pinocchio, premieres; today, February 7, 1940

Pinocchio is a 1940 American animated film produced by Walt Disney and based on the story The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. The second film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics, it was made after the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and was released to theaters by RKO Radio Pictures on February 7, 1940.
The plot of the film involves a wooden puppet named Pinocchio (voice of Dickie Jones) being brought to life by a blue fairy (Evelyn Venable), who tells him he can become a real boy if he proves himself "brave, truthful, and unselfish". Thus begin the puppet's adventures to become a real boy, which involve many encounters with a host of unsavory characters.
The film was adapted by Aurelius Battaglia, William Cottrell, Otto Englander, Erdman Penner, Joseph Sabo, Ted Sears, and Webb Smith from Collodi's book. The production was supervised by Ben Sharpsteen and Hamilton Luske, and the film's sequences were directed by Norman Ferguson, T. Hee, Wilfred Jackson, Jack Kinney, and Bill Roberts.
Pinocchio won two Academy Awards, one for Best Original Score and one for Best Original Song for the song "When You Wish upon a Star".

Trevor Donovan (born October 11, 1978) is an American actor.
Donovan had a short stint in 2007 on the NBC daytime soap Days of out Lives as Jeremy Horton. He had a minor role in the 2009 sci-fi film Surrogates playing the Surrogate form of Tom Greer (Bruce Willis).
Donovan landed a recurring role on  90210 as Teddy Montgomery, first appearing on September 8, 2009. On May 20, 2010, The CW announced that he was upgraded to series regular. It was later reported that his character would come out as gay in the upcoming third season,  premiering on September 13, 2010.
